Marantz 4270 70wpc + Quad Receiver - Serv & Recap (Same 2ch as 2270)

Performance:
The Unit has just completed a complete electrolytic recap of the power supply section along with all transistors to the same board. This is an essential maintenance effort to ensure proper functions are not disrupted via improper power supply to the corresponding circuits. Some of the smaller caps were replaced after testing bad along the tone boards. Everything else that was checked good was left in place to preserve the signature Marantz warmth and superior sound.
Lights were upgraded to LED. The job was done correctly, no issues with flicker or dimness.
After recap, the unit Audio Adjustment and Voltage Regulator adjustment was reset to spec per page 11 of the 4270 service manual.
All controls were cleaned, lubed and function normal.
The optional SQA decoder can be purchased separately. If you do not plan on using SQ coded Quad format, it is not a necessity and strictly an add-on item for those who do use SQ format.
While folks are overpaying for the 2270, the 4270 gets ignored. The 4270 in 2 channel mode produces the same 70wpc as the 2270, but also has the option of running in quadraphonic mode.
In my opinion the 4270 is a superior unit to the 2270, but given the 2270 was the most mass produced model, by default people are buying it, despite the price hike. A fully serviced upgraded black face version has topped $2k twice this last year.
I have owned a number of the 4270 and I keep finding my way back to them. I do love the sound, display, and versatility of running in 2 or 4 channel. The black face is an extraordinary touch that really makes people say wow, just to say wow again once they hear it.
If you are thinking of buying this unit but unsure of what speakers would sound great, feel free to send a message. If you are looking for this sound, but need more power, the pre/in preouts will allow you to run a power amp, see my SoundCraftsmen A400 and ask me how to add the power amp and still use the internal amp in the receiver if you have a lot of speakers to run like I do without running the risk of damaging the outputs on the receiver or clipping the receiver and blowing you tweeters. Bottom line, you have a lot of options with this unit, please let me know how I can help.
Cosmetics:
The Unit as seen in the photos is a fantastic sight. The face was an after market add-on that is done with great detail and lacks no detail compared to stock, other than being black. 
The case was painted black by the prior owner. It is not a perfect wood case, but does not distract from the overall look and feel despite being a home pain job. I had a friend who painted one of his using a black lacquer auto paint and that cabinet was stunning. I had plans to do the same with this, but my list of projects is nearing unmanageable proportions so I am opting to leave that to you. The unit comes with the wood cabinet described, however if you prefer to have the original wood vinyl lid instead I am happy to swap before shipping. I cannot include both as the metal lid is from one of my other units. Just send me a message asking to send the metal lid instead.
